Welcome to the fascinating world of Electrical Engineering (EE) at Lamar University (LU), which pervades every aspect of modern society and continues to be the cornerstone of rapid technological advances that improve the quality of our life. EE is the world of Analog & Digital Electronic Devices & Circuits, Power Systems & Renewable Energy, Telecommunication Systems, Control Systems & Instrumentation, Analog & Digital Signal Processing, Electromagnetic Propagation, Photonics & Optics, Computer Engineering, Computer Architecture, Computer Vision, Embedded Microprocessor Systems, Semiconductors & Microchips , Network Analysis & Cybersecurity, and Robotics & Artificial Intelligent. Therefore, the graduate and undergraduate degrees in Electrical Engineering are your gate to a vast variety of technical careers.

Using a unique Flexible Learning System, the Department offers:

The Department uses a very flexible system that suits everyone’s schedule and needs. We offer two sections for each graduate and undergraduate course: face-to-face and online. Every semester, the student can select all courses face-to-face, some courses face-to-face and others online, or all courses online. Students in the online sections have the option to attend live lecture with the face-to-face students, or to study asynchronously using the recordings and course materials posted on Blackboard.

We, at LUEE, strive to produce exceptional graduates who within a few years after graduation:

  • advance professionally with increasing leadership and responsibility beyond entry level in an industry relevant to electrical engineering,
  • contribute to organizational objectives with significant societal benefits in an ethically responsible manner, and
  • engage in life-long learning trough professional activities, training and networking, the pursuit of higher educational degrees, and individual professional development.

The Department has high quality faculty who graduated from top universities with broad research areas in Computer networks, Cybersecurity, telecommunications, VLSI, Circuits, Microelectronics, Robotics, Artificial Intelligent, Machine Learning, Applied and Computational Electromagnetics, Signal Processing, and Power and energy systems. The Department has for research labs:

  • Applied DSP Research Laboratory,
  • Computer Network Research Laboratory,
  • Robotics and Intelligent Control Systems (RICS) Lab, and
  • VLSI CAD & Signal Integrity Laboratory.

I am confident that you will find Lamar University an exciting place to be.
